Sir
Paul McCartney is best known for being a member of The Beatles, one of the greatest
rock-n-roll groups of all time, and for penning songs about the love that binds
people together. But Sir McCartney has also consistently used his celebrity to
help promote a more peaceful, just and sustainable world. Some of the recent causes
he has lent his name and his passion to are the Live 8 Concert to end poverty
and his work as a Goodwill Ambassador of the United Nations Association, working
to help ban and clean up landmines with UNA's Adopt-a-Minefield campaign.
